England players made solid starts on the opening day of action in the Tecnifibre British Junior Open - the world's most prestigious junior squash championships, which has attracted more than 450 players from 34 countries to the Yorkshire city of Sheffield.
England's Sarah-Jane Perry and Harinder Pal Sandhu, from India, celebrated title triumphs successes in the Scottish Junior U19 Open in Edinburgh - in the final European Squash Federation Junior Circuit event of the year at the National Squash Centre at Heriot-Watt University.
Irishman Rory Byrne and USA's Olivia Blatchford emerged triumphant in the finals of the IACT Irish Junior U19 Open in Dublin - Byrne providing long-awaited domestic success in the men's event of this European Squash Federation Junior Circuit championship, while 14-year-old Blatchford was recording one of the youngest ever successes in the women's category.
