Presidency of Squash Flanders - Thanks Hugo and welcome Dave!

ESF President Hugo Hannes resigned after 26 years as president of Squash Flanders. Dave De Beule was elected & with his years of experience in the squash world, there will once again be a strong presidency.

During the annual General Assembly of Squash Vlaanderen, we said goodbye to a monument of our squash world, President Hugo Hannes resigned after 26 years as president. The 70-year-old Hugo has devoted himself enormously to squash in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and the rest of the world. The work he did was invaluable,  he was appointed honorary member by the new board because of his proven services to the sport of squash. Until May 2022, he remains President of the European Squash Federation, where he has also been an honorary member since 2013, and Regional Vice President of the World Squash Federation. In 2016, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the hands of Indian President Ramachandran for his contribution to international squash. 

Dave De Beule was elected as the new chairman, with his years of experience in the squash world, both as a player, as a member of committees, and as a member of board within Squash Vlaanderen, there will once again be a strong presidency. Within the framework of the current crisis and with the many challenges it brings, this experience will undoubtedly be of great added value to Squash Vlaanderen and all its members.

Veerle Putzeys will sit together with Kim Hannes on the board of Squash Belgium, in which they will look after the interests of squash in Belgium and Flanders
