ESF Level 2 Coaching Course in Budapest

Tutor Colin White, now based in the US, returned to the Griff Club in Budapest to run a Level 2 Course on behalf of ESF together with assessor Michael Khan and local organizer Csaba Altvater.

Seven coach candidates from Austria, Hungary, Poland and Romania went through the WSF L2 Syllabus in theory and practice. The level 2 courses are aimed towards working with intermediate players with a strong emphasis on skill learning and accuracy. All this should be achieved in a “open skill” environment, i.e. a game like setting, which teaches players not only how to play a certain shot, but also why and when.

The warm and humid weather did not affect the enthusiasm of the group working hard on and off court. Practical assessments of group and individual lessons are now to be followed by post course assignments. Only after these have been approved by both the tutor and assessor will they be awarded the WSF Level 2 Certificate.

Whilst the L2 candidates are on their way home the ESF Tutors stay in Budapest for the very first WSF/ESF Level 3 Coaching Course where they will join forces with WSF Tutors from Asia, Pan America and Oceania to take on a group of 18 (!) Level 3 Coach Candidates.
