Top seeds Mohamed Zakaria and Fayrouz Aboulkheir were the victors in the boys' and girls' Under-19 finals respectively. 

Sixteen-year-old Zakaria overcame England's Jonah Bryant 11-9, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7 in a high-quality boys' final. Zakaria, who last year became the youngest ever title winner on the PSA Tour at the LA Open, showcased his virtually faultless accuracy and consistency to consign Bryant to the runner-up position for the second year in a row.

“This is my sixth time here and I’ve lost five times before, so I came here to show the world how I am right now,” Zakaria said. “I was ready for this event – unlike the last five years I came here and I was ready and I knew I was the best here. All of that was thanks to my coach back in Egypt Ahmed Shohayb – he’s the one that needs to take all the credit."

The bronze medal play-off was an all-European affair with Switzerland's David Bernet winning a lengthy and very entertaining four-game clash with Melvil Scianimanico of France.

Aboulkheir beat USA's Caroline Fouts 11-8 11-3 12-10 in the girls' U19 showpiece.

The serene progress of Indian sensation Anahat Singh was interrupted by Egypt's Nadien Elhammamy (pictured above) in the girls' U17 final. Hampered early on by an accidental hit in the mouth from Elhammamy's racket that necessitated a blood injury break, then in the fifth game by painful blisters, the 15-year-old top seed went down in a classic five-game battle. In the third-place play-off, France's Lauren Baltayan - who lost so narrowly in Saturday's semi-finals - put in another superbly gutsy performance in beating Egypt's Barb Sameh 10-12, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6, 13-11, saving a match ball in the fifth.

Defending boys' U17 champion Youssef Salem of Egypt retained his crown after overcoming his compatriot and last year’s U15 winner, second seeded Marwan Asal.

Abdullah Ali fell just short of winning Kuwait's first ever British Junior Open title as he went down in four games to Egypt's top seed Philopater Saleh in the boys' U15 final. Malika El Karaksy was the girls' U15 winner in four games over compatriot Rama El Naggar.

The top two seeds met in the boys' U13 final with Malek Helmy winning a marathon battle 12-10 in the fifth against fellow countryman Omar Mohamed. In the girls' final, Reem Elmaghraby couldn't quite follow up her surprise semi-final win over USA's top seed Vivienne Sze, as she lost to Layan Moustafa in straight games.

At the start of the day on the University of Birmingham show court, the U11s had set the tone for the total Egyptian dominance of the day, with Adam Ragab comfortably winning the boys' title and Serein Mohamed lifting the girls' trophy.
